GRADUATE MANAGEMENT HIRE PROGRAMME


PROGRAMME OVERVIEW

 

Nationwide Mortgage Corporation Pty Ltd. (Nationwide) offers a two-year full-time Graduate Management Hire (GMH) programme which features an accelerated path into our operational management team. The programme is available to candidates who have successfully completed a Diploma or higher qualification in any discipline, a stable track record of employment in any industry and experience involving supervision or leadership of others.

 

The aim of the Nationwide GMH programme is to develop your management potential for a career in the mortgage industry. Hands on, on-the-job training will be provided in areas such as

§       Mortgage Operations

§       Loan Serviceability

§       Lending Practice

§       Finance Economics

§       Finance Law

§       Mortgage Lending Ethics & Issues

§       Workplace Communications

§       Computer, Personal Computer Applied

§       Dealing With Customers & Clients

§       Occupational Health & Safety

§       Trust Accounts Management

 

Nationwide aims to facilitate your skills acquisition and development candidates into the job level of Manager within the first twelve months. Current promotional pre‑requisites up to the Supervisor job level are used as developmental benchmarks for those hired under this programme.

 

PROGRAMME QUALIFICATION CRITERIA

 

¨              Diploma, Bachelor degree, or higher qualification in any discipline.

¨              Minimum of two (2) years part or full-time work experience with a stable track record in any industry.

¨              Australian citizen, permanent resident or suitable visa with unrestricted work rights.

¨              Prior job responsibilities or extra-curricular activities demonstrating leadership and/or supervision of others.

¨              High levels of achievement and personal motivation.

¨              Employment contract period of two years.

¨              Applicants must have location flexibility throughout metropolitan Sydney and ideally will own or have unrestricted access to a car.

¨              Applicant will be exposed to a ground up approach to skills acquisition and development in multiple functional areas and in later program stages assigned non-operational and project responsibilities.

¨              Applicants who have lodged a permanent resident application and are awaiting determination may be hired subject to additional criteria.

 

MANAGEMENT ROLE

 

Whilst the role of the Manager is primarily an operational role with emphasis on the delivery of optimal service and quality to our customers, Nationwide’s GMH programme participants will be expected to demonstrate additional skills in the areas of:-

 

·     Conduct that serves as a positive role model to the functional team.

·     Service and quality standards achievement.

·     All daily and weekly administration activities being completed in a timely and accurate fashion.

·     Planning of weekly and monthly focus areas with Reporting Manager.

·     Ensuring training activities are appropriate for development of staff up to the Supervisor Job Level.

·     Effective handling of day to day personnel issues.

·     Identification of personnel and/or performance issues where Reporting Management support is required.

·     Ensuring functional team adherence to Nationwide’s policies.

·     Communicating issues adequately and in a timely manner.

 

To be promoted to the job level of Manager, Nationwide’s GMH programme participants need to satisfy the above performance criteria and in addition, display the following:-

 

·     Strong and consistent leadership qualities that gain respect of the functional team.

·     Ability to effectively handle and address personnel behaviour and/or performance issues.

·     Effective planning of daily, weekly and monthly activities.

·     An ability to develop team members actively and effectively.

·     Comfort with Nationwide’s manpower planning processes.

·     Effective relationships with other functional teams and Managers.
